Here is Asher "mid-meltdown" letting us know he is DONE with the sightseeing!

We had a fabulous time visiting with Grandpa Ellwein, seeing the sites, getting a cowgirl outfit for Saela, playing at the park, and eating pheasant and walleye just like Momma likes them and having an ice cream treat or two! We miss you Papa!

To The Barn!

While visiting Grandma and Grandpa Green in Michigan in September, we took our first trip to "the barn." This is where Steve and his siblings have had their height measured in years gone by.

The white line is Steve (at age three) then the first black line is Asher (at a little over two years) and then the next black line up is Saela (at four.) Either the barn has settled into the ground a bit err a lot or Daddy was pretty short at the age of three. ;)

Love Our Grandmas!

Grandma T and Grandma Green were both able to visit this past August for Saela's birthday celebration (yes, I know it is now the end of October) and we sure did have fun with them!!

Big Shoes to Fill

Asher occasionally likes to wear other people's shoes. He's not partial...here he is in Daddy's shoes but has also been known to show off Saela's pink boots as well. Our little guy has quite the vocabulary and likes to use it. He sings his ABCs, "teabot" - (I'm a little teapot), "wheels" - (Wheels on the Bus) and counts to ten without missing a beat (but occasionally does miss #5.) Picky eating remains his MO and he's forever asking for "umpin else" - (something else.) If I could dress him up as a piece of Kraft macaroni and cheese - I would do so for Halloween - that is a pretty good fail safe for food. I have to say though, he does like fruit - so that is something nutritious - right?!? When we moved into our house, I couldn't understand why there were locks on the pantry and another closet in the hallway. Guess which doors are always locked now to prevent mischievous little boys from getting into things they shouldn't be getting into - you got it ;). Asher is also Mr. Independent and deems himself advanced enough to know when the dogs need to come in or go out. Today, he let them out the front door. Umm, yeah, no fence in the front yard there Buddy. Only because of God's Grace was this not a major meltdown moment for Mom. Jilly actually came when she was called. If I hadn't been so relieved, I might have passed out from the shock of it all. So, everyone is safe for now, I think, I mean, I think they are all sleeping. I hope. I have positioned myself where I should see a munchkin try to sneak away. Best sleep with one eye open lest I doze off for an afternoon siesta. Sleep has been lacking a bit since transitioning to a big boy bed (because he was climbing out of the crib.) The little guy does not know that sleep training is coming soon. The pediatrician assures me - it should only take a week or so...wish us luck! As frustrating as bedtime can be, it still melts my heart when he finally acquiesces and says "carry you Mommy" - but meaning "carry me." I will carry you as long as I am physically able my Sweet Boy and I will love you forevermore.

Pretty in Pink

Our Baby Girl is FOUR

Saela wanted a Minnie Mouse and Princess (specifically Snow White) birthday party and that is precisely what she got last month. She looked so sweet in her Minnie outfit...we are hoping it still fits for Halloween! She also received a plethora of princess clothing items and she loves them all. She loves wearing her princess shoes and even wore her Minnie dress to bed the other night. She really is such a sweet girl and we love her so much. We can hardly believe that she is four already. It just doesn't seem possible. We were blessed to celebrate her birthday with both Grandma T and Grandma Green as well as Uncle David. A great time was had by all sharing in our love for this sweet darlin' - who will always be Our Baby Girl - no matter how many birthdays she has celebrated!

Wall Art by Saela

Shortly before I started working, Saela and I were able to create some wall art for her. Mostly, I watched and she painted. We had a great time. Now, if I could just get those letters on the wall...

Stay tuned...my sweet baby's birthday pictures will be coming soon!
