Crazy Week
Mom thought she would take a break from the blog - so I thought I'd come give you an update. Last week I had an MRI of my brain to make sure I didn't have hydrocephalus (extra fluid around my brain) - the test came back normal and we thanked God for that result. (My head is a little bit off the charts size wise - now we know it's just my genes.) Grandma Green came and stayed with me and then on Thursday we went back to her house to spend the weekend together. We had so much fun - we visited lots of people, went to a wedding, played in the church nursery and just had a grand old time. While I was away - Dad & Mom celebrated their fourth anniversary. They couldn't celebrate on the actual day because Dad was in New York on a business trip but they went out to a nice dinner on Friday and to a movie on Saturday. Mom spent her weekend organizing the house and she got almost everything done on her list. She also received good news - she passed her boards! I guess all that studying paid off - I'll have to remember that in the future. Mom, Dad, Jax & Jilly came to pick me up on Sunday. I clapped and smiled when I saw my mom - it was great to see her! Jax & Jilly were just as crazy as ever - but running around at G'ma & G'pa's house always tires them out. This week is back to normal - I'm back at "school" and even had my first school pictures taken today. Mom & Dad can't believe what a big girl I am already. I am even taking tentative steps now - pretty soon I'll be running around and they won't be able to catch me! Well, I guess that's about it for an update. Mom wanted me to tell you that she has a couple of new pictures and she will post them soon. I love and miss you all - Saela

Saela's 2nd Season
I am all ready to cheer on the Spartans!
I had a very exciting football Saturday. The Michigan State Spartans won - but not only that, Daddy's other alma mater Notre Dame also beat up on the Michigan Wolverines - which always makes Daddy happy. I feel a spirited rivalry beginning with my new cousin, Kaylee. Apparently, she is a Minnesota Gophers fan. I am not sure how that happened. I'll have to spend some more time with her I guess. Here's to more of the same for the Spartans in the coming weeks - GO STATE! (Even though Daddy is a ND fan too - the Spartans will win out when they meet next Saturday.)

Fun After a Bath and More
Yesterday, I had a bath in the big girl tub and I LOVED IT! No more baby tub for me!
Something I did not know. Molars are not fun. Poor Saela has had runny poo for a few days and on Friday had a low-grade temp at daycare. Since we did not have similar problems with her other teeth - it didn't even occur to me to look in her mouth. Saturday she was very clingy - wanting to be up/down/up/down/up/down/up/down up/down/up/down/up/down/up/down - this is very unusual for her - but still no light bulbs went on in the ol' "mom brain." I mean all the signs were right there - hello. So today she's crying with her mouth hanging open so wide I can practically see her esophagus and I see that her left lower gum is about three times its normal size. Ding ding ding ding - Saela appears to be getting a molar. Tylenol has become our new best friend. Let me reiterate, molars are not fun. Have a great week!

Saela Catherine Green - One Year
Miss Rachel put my hair in pigtails at school today and Mommy thought it was TOO CUTE!
Come and get your toy Jax.
See you later Mom...
... I think we can stop the picture madness and get onto something more fun - like pulling my diapers off the shelf.Saela has been in "school" (a.k.a daycare) for the past ten days. She has actually transitioned quite well. She LOVES doing art - especially painting. She is starting to play and interact with the other kids which is nice to see when I pick her up at the end of the day.
She had her one year appointment last week...drum roll for the one year stats:
Length: 29 1/4 inches - 50th percentile
Weight: 22# 4 oz. - 75th percentile
She is starting to lose some of her "chub" - I picked her up today and she felt like such a skinny little thing. She is not quite walking yet but did take two official steps the day before her birthday. As always she brings endless smiles to our lives and joy to our hearts.
