Saela experienced her first golf tournament this weekend. We were able to attend the Buick Open for a few hours yesterday and today. She took a few naps and overall behaved beautifully. We stayed at the 17th hole - which is a fairly rowdy hole - so she didn't have to be too quiet. The weather was beautiful both days and it was really nice to be outside. We hope everyone enjoyed their weekend just as much!

TEN MONTHS!!!
Yeah, yeah - let's play pots & pans!Better Late Than Never...
Okay, I know - I was all over the Mother's Day post and this one may seem a bit late. To my credit (and you'll have to take my word on this), I did try to post last Sunday and Blogger was having an issue with my cookies being enabled/disabled or whatever - so this obviously did not get posted on Father's Day. For the remainder of the week, however, I have no real good excuse for not getting this up sooner. The weeks just fly by and before you know it another has come and gone. We were able to spend Steve's first Father's Day with his parents - which was a nice relaxing time. Saela got Steve a picture for his desk that says "Love you Dad" and a basketball hoop (with my help.) I'm sure many hours will be spent teaching Saela (and me) how to properly shoot a basketball. We had some friends over last night and I was the first one out in the first game of "PIG." Steve of course won - as it should be for the first game on your own hoop. I am sure the basketball hoop will be a gift that keeps on giving - for years to come. If you're in the area - stop on by to check it out!

"Auntie" Taryn

One of my best friends was able to visit us for a couple of days last week. Taryn and I met the summer before seventh grade. We spent our junior high and high school years sharing many classes and a love for jazz, tap, and ballet. My one and only European vacation was taken with her after we graduated from undergrad. We have stayed close throughout the years and although we do not see each other often - when we do, it's as if no time has passed. She was able to meet Saela for the first time and we had a great time catching up. We feel blessed by her friendship and miss her already!

Jax & Jilly...
..." is it time yet because I'm drooling, may I eat please, is it time now? Ahhh THANK YOU."
I, personally, find this video extremely hilarious. It may not seem as funny to you if you do not know my "first baby" Jax or you are not a "dog" person. Jax & Jilly may have taken a backseat in the picture department but they are still very much a part of our lives! Jax just received a new "chuck it" (this saves me from touching a slobbery, slimy ball) to play ball in the backyard. He would chase that ball 24 hours a day if we let him. Steve has nearly completed our invisible dog fence - so now Jilly can roam to her heart's content. Unlike Jax - she would roam 1 hour per day and nap the other 23. She may be one of the smartest - but LAZIEST labs I know!

My Big Girl...
Goodbye to Mr. Rory & Miss Rachel
Mr. Rory and Miss Rachel were friends of Mom's and Dad's back in the old neighborhood. Mr. Rory helped Mom and Dad move into their first home together and even helped unload Dad's old jet ski out of the moving van. Miss Rachel came into the picture a little later and met Mom and Dad while she and Rory were walking their dog, Aysha. This was, of course, all before my time. Mom and Dad had many fun nights hanging out with Mr. Rory and Miss Rachel. They have shared many backyard barbecues and even some rousing games of Taboo. Mr. Rory and Miss Rachel are moving to New Jersey because Miss Rachel has been promoted in her field. We sure will miss being able to hang out with them. We wish them the best of luck with their move and wanted to let them know they will always have a place to crash here in Michigan - but only if they bring noodles - whatever that means! Come back and visit soon - love Saela (and of course Mom, Dad, Jax & Jilly too!)
