The Buick Open

Before Round 3 on Saturday

After Round 3...
...guess I just needed a nap!
Before Round 4 on Sunday...

...I'm ready to go this time!

Saela experienced her first golf tournament this weekend. We were able to attend the Buick Open for a few hours yesterday and today. She took a few naps and overall behaved beautifully. We stayed at the 17th hole - which is a fairly rowdy hole - so she didn't have to be too quiet. The weather was beautiful both days and it was really nice to be outside. We hope everyone enjoyed their weekend just as much!

TEN MONTHS!!!

Saela and I spent the day hanging out today while Steve cleared out some of our backyard where we will lay sod in the future. I can hardly believe that our baby girl is ten months old today! She is just awesome - no other words to explain how much joy she brings to our lives on a daily basis! Here are some pictures from our day.
Hey Mom, I think I'd like to see what's up here on the table.

This remote control and phone look interesting.

I don't think these will keep me entertained very long though.

I don't know, Mom, what do you think we should do?

Yeah, yeah - let's play pots & pans!

Better Late Than Never...

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!! (TO ALL DADS)

Okay, I know - I was all over the Mother's Day post and this one may seem a bit late. To my credit (and you'll have to take my word on this), I did try to post last Sunday and Blogger was having an issue with my cookies being enabled/disabled or whatever - so this obviously did not get posted on Father's Day. For the remainder of the week, however, I have no real good excuse for not getting this up sooner. The weeks just fly by and before you know it another has come and gone. We were able to spend Steve's first Father's Day with his parents - which was a nice relaxing time. Saela got Steve a picture for his desk that says "Love you Dad" and a basketball hoop (with my help.) I'm sure many hours will be spent teaching Saela (and me) how to properly shoot a basketball. We had some friends over last night and I was the first one out in the first game of "PIG." Steve of course won - as it should be for the first game on your own hoop. I am sure the basketball hoop will be a gift that keeps on giving - for years to come. If you're in the area - stop on by to check it out!

I See Something...

...I like to chew Jax & Jilly's toys too - but Mom and Dad are too quick - they saved this one from my mouth just in time!

Waving, Clapping, and High Fives

Saela has recently started "whole fisted" waving, clapping at her own antics, and will "high five" on command! She is constantly processing and soaking in new information - it is truly amazing to watch. She is starting to take tentative steps around the furniture to move herself closer to objects that invariably should not be in her possession i.e. Daddy's magazines, power cords, remote controls, dog leashes, and dog collars - with Jax & Jilly still attached!

The Cut

I had been contemplating a haircut for many months and finally just had to do it! I gave Steve all week to prepare for the big event - but he still occasionally puts on a pouty face. I think he has gotten used to the front - but doesn't really like the "shorter in the back" look. I love the change and it is a nice cut for the summer. Saela didn't seem to notice the difference.

"Auntie" Taryn

One of my best friends was able to visit us for a couple of days last week. Taryn and I met the summer before seventh grade. We spent our junior high and high school years sharing many classes and a love for jazz, tap, and ballet. My one and only European vacation was taken with her after we graduated from undergrad. We have stayed close throughout the years and although we do not see each other often - when we do, it's as if no time has passed. She was able to meet Saela for the first time and we had a great time catching up. We feel blessed by her friendship and miss her already!
