Saela's First Experience...

at a Japanese Steak house.

She was quite entertained by all of the sights and sounds!

I Match

Saela wanted to show how she coordinates her outfits with her toys. She really loves her playmats these days. I wanted to brag about the price of the outfit she is wearing. It cost $3.98 before tax! The Children's Place was having a huge sale with each piece costing only $1.99. You really just can't beat that - even at the consignment shop!

...and I'd go again!

Anybody who knows me well, knows that I am a huge Kenny Rogers fan. Most people my age would first think of the Detroit Tigers pitcher - however, I am of course talking about "The Gambler." Steve, bless his heart, has now attended three Kenny Rogers concerts with me and here we are at the most recent one.
Although it is hard to tell, we are actually right up against the stage before the beginning of the concert. Yes folks, we were in the FRONT ROW! To most, this may be a bit ho-hum - but for me it was awesome. Here is the band taking the stage...
...and here is "The Gambler" himself. Yes, he may have gone a bit overboard with the plastic surgery but he still sounds the same. He recently had a total knee replacement - so one would have to wonder just how much longer he will go on the road. He will be 70 years old this year on 8/21 - right inbetween my birthday and Saela's. Of note - he also has 3.5 year old twin boys - can you imagine?
This will likely be the closest I'll ever come to having my picture "with" Kenny. I was probably the youngest person in the room who knew every word to every song. I even knew the words to the First Edition song he sang - for your reference the group First Edition disbanded in 1974 - two years before I was born.
Before the concert - I was thinking that this would probably be the last time I would go see Kenny in person. I mean you cannot really beat the front row and I've seen him four times now - what could be better?
...but as he walked off the stage - I knew if I had the opportunity - I would go again and again.

Floating on a Cloud

Saela continues to amaze us daily. She is consistently sleeping through the night - sometimes up to 10-11 hours! She is rolling over - although she still has one arm that stays caught when she goes from back to front. She will smile at people she doesn't know and then bury her head in my chest and if that doesn't melt your heart - I don't know what would. Her six month well-baby check-up is in just a couple of weeks. Where does the time go? I am looking forward to spending my time off with her and plan on cherishing every moment. We will be headed to Minnesota for one week to see family and friends and we are really excited about that trip. It will be Saela's first airline experience. Well, she just woke up - I'm going to go take advantage of all the smiles she doles out in the morning. Have a great day!
