On a somewhat last minute decision, we decided to take the kids to the beach for one day on their last weekend in North Carolina. We are are so glad we went. We had a great time...stay tuned - more pictures to come...

Mom's Day 2011

Some good chocolate was had by all on Mother's Day this year. A little Godiva chocolate can go a long way in creating happy campers and a happy Mommy! In addition, Saela picked out *my* gifts - a princess from her and a matchbox type car from Asher. Hopefully *we* will have hours of fun with my gifts :). Somewhat to Steve's dismay - Asher preferred the princess and some fighting did ensue. We spent a leisurely day at one of the outlet malls with some friends and just had a very nice time. It was a perfect day! Love those babies to pieces and feel so privileged to be their mom.

How is it that you are already two?

Dear Asher,

It seems like just yesterday that God gave you to us to love and cherish...and now you are such a big boy! Over the last year you have learned so many things and your vocabulary is growing everyday. I love how you say "mants" for pants and "gocks" for socks. It's amazing to watch you jump on two feet and climb like a little monkey. Monkeys by the way are one of your favorites. You would wear your monkey "tete" jammies all day long if we let you. Your car "caa" jammies do run a close second though. You are surprisingly picky about your clothes - but perhaps that shouldn't be so surprising as you are still a picky little eater. You will reliably eat macaroni & cheese, waffles, crackers and occasionally cheese sticks. Fallen by the wayside are eggs and well...just about everything else. I'm sure one day, however, that you will be eating us out of house and home :)! You've hung in with your crazy parents - being born in Michigan, celebrating your first birthday in North Carolina and now your second birthday in Tennessee. We are moving on your birthday weekend for the second year in a row and you just walk around throwing your hands in the air saying, "what a mess. What a mess!" You will still cuddle in when you are tired - or sick and I will never tire of holding or rocking you. Sweet baby boy - that is what you will always be - our sweet boy. We love you so much Asher!
